A place to call home for our Veterans
Good News Living LLC is an approved VA Medical Foster Home. We can connect you with the right team to ensure your in-home medical care is covered.
We proudly maintain a 1:3 caregiver-to-resident ratio — compared to nursing homes where ratios are often 1:8 or greater. You or your loved one will always have a caregiver close by.
Home-Like Environment
Small, personal setting where every resident is known by name — not by room number.
Veteran-Focused Care
Staff trained to understand the unique needs and experiences of military veterans.
Family Partnership
Open communication and collaboration with families every step of the way.
A short stay that feels like a getaway
Whether you're recovering from surgery, transitioning home from the hospital, or simply giving a family caregiver a well-deserved break, our respite stays are designed to feel less like a facility and more like a quiet, restorative retreat.
Who comes for a short stay?
Post-Surgery Recovery
A safe, supportive place to heal after surgery — with around-the-clock help so you can focus on getting better, not on chores.
Rehabilitation & Therapy
Coming home from a hospital stay or rehab facility? We provide the bridge — supportive care that helps you regain strength and confidence.
Caregiver Vacation
Family caregivers deserve real rest. We'll lovingly care for your loved one while you take a vacation, attend a wedding, or simply recharge.
Caregiver Respite
Caring for a loved one is exhausting work. Even a few days or a week away to rest, sleep, and recover makes you a stronger caregiver.
"Try Before You Stay"
Considering long-term placement? A short respite stay is a wonderful, low-pressure way to experience our home before committing.
This isn't just rest. It's a vacation.
We believe a short stay should feel restorative — even indulgent. That's why we go beyond standard care to make every respite resident feel pampered, welcomed, and truly special. Your loved one isn't just recovering — they're being truly cared for.

A peaceful place to be at peace
When a loved one is approaching the end of life, what they need most is warmth, dignity, and presence — not the noise and bustle of a large institution. Good News Living offers a quiet, home-like setting where end-of-life care is delivered with compassion, gentleness, and unhurried care.
Dignity & Comfort
We'll invite your care team into our home for pain management — gentle, compassionate support and the small comforts that mean everything in life's final chapter.
Family Welcome
Loved ones are welcome to visit, to share a meal, or simply to sit quietly together.
Spiritual Care
We coordinate pastoral care for all spiritual needs — ensuring every resident and family has access to the spiritual support that brings them comfort and peace.
Our approach to end-of-life care
We believe the final chapter should be as gentle and meaningful as any other. Residents in hospice care are surrounded by familiar caregivers who know their stories, soft surroundings that feel like home, and the gentle presence of friendly caregivers — including our companion canine, Larry, who has a way of knowing exactly when to offer quiet company.
We work in partnership with the resident's hospice team, family, and any spiritual support they wish to have. Our goal is simple: to make sure no one feels alone, rushed, or anything less than cherished in their final days.

What is a Veteran Medical Foster Home?
A Veteran Medical Foster Home is approved through the VA — and it means the entire traveling primary care team comes directly to the veteran, right here in our home. No long drives to clinics. No waiting rooms. No stress.
The entire team comes to you
As an approved VA Medical Foster Home, every member of the primary care team travels directly to our Good News Living Home to meet the veteran — eliminating the need for extensive travel and making quality care effortless.
Why our ratio matters for veterans
Good News Living maintains a 1:3 caregiver-to-veteran ratio — far lower than the 1:8 or greater ratios common in large institutional settings.
This low ratio allows us to quickly recognize the emotional, physical, and spiritual needs that are often uniquely associated with veterans — needs that can slip through the cracks and be overlooked in larger care settings.
Good News Living — an approved VA Medical Foster Home
We are proud to be an approved Veteran Medical Foster Home. We can connect you with the right team to ensure your in-home medical care is covered — and we'll walk alongside you every step of the way through the process.
Everything our residents need under one roof
From home-cooked meals to a furry companion, here's what life with us looks like every day.
This is Larry
Larry is our companion canine — and the unofficial heart of our home. He greets every visitor at the door, makes daily rounds through the yard chasing deer and grouse, and has a sixth sense for which resident needs a quiet visit on a hard day.
For many of our residents, Larry is the best part of the day. He brings comfort, laughter, and the simple joy that only a good dog can.
Honest, all-inclusive pricing — no surprises
We believe families deserve clarity, not complexity. That's why our rate covers everything in a single monthly fee — no hidden charges, no à la carte add-ons, no surprise bills at the end of the month.
One monthly rate. Everything included.
Many homes lure you in with a low base price, then add fees for meals, laundry, medication help, personal care, and more. We don't believe in that. Our monthly rate is truly all-inclusive.
Your monthly rate covers:
Ways to pay
VA Aid & Attendance
Many wartime veterans and surviving spouses qualify for this VA pension benefit, which provides additional monthly funds to help cover the cost of care. We can connect you with accredited VA representatives who help with the application.
Private Pay
Pay directly out of pocket using personal savings, retirement income, family contributions, or proceeds from a home sale. We make billing simple — one straightforward monthly invoice.
